As in your second dilemma, I am assuming you happen to be referring to a group of women in your salutation of them, so it would be "Great morning, ladies." And as you are addressing them straight, the comma preceding "ladies" is critical.Certainly On the subject of staying polite and staying away from offense, this is not beneficial! If in doubt an
